We don't think we're being over-dramatic by describing the tackling of skin problems as a battle and in every battle you need strategy....
First stratagem – the external
Only use soothing, calming, natural products on your skin. Get a routine and stick to it - with the best will in the world your skin will flare up from time to time but the worst thing you can do is panic and start sticking dodgy products on your face. Of course we recommend using the complete Bonnie Lassie range – if it's worked for us, it should work for you too.
Second stratagem – the internal
As well as concerning yourself with what goes on your skin you should be thinking about what you put into your system too. It goes without saying that you should have a healthy diet and drink loads of water but honestly some of the advice we've read on skin calming regimes have made us seriously depressed as they seem to ban just about every foodstuff (and drink and activity!) going. Instead concentrate on the positive – load up your system with everything that's good for you. Spookily enough we noticed the things we were putting into our products were the same things we were putting into our diets to make us feel super-good and super-healthy: berries like blackcurrants, raspberries and rosehips which are full of flavonoids and anthocyanins and so are great for capillary health. We also can't get enough fruit, seeds and nuts like apricots, avocados, sesame, almonds, macadamia and hazelnuts which are bursting with vitamins and omega oils and feed your skin both inside and out.
Bonnie Lassie Reason to be cheerful – If your skin has made you review what you eat and take in the way of supplements now you're going to be well set-up healthwise for the future.
Third Stratagem – the psychological
Relax! It's a vicious circle – you get stressed, your skin erupts, you get stressed about that and so it goes on. We know it's difficult sometimes but you really must try to relax, for example – lose yourself in a book: become Madame Bovary or Anna Karenina for a few hours; take up something where you have to concentrate like learning a new language or how to dance; write a diary, a blog or just write to let your feelings out; watch your favourite comedy films and have a good laugh or a weepie and have a good cry – emotions are good!
